Before opening Rocky Rinker, Attorney at Law, P.A., Attorney Rinker was a founding partner of Rinker Moran, Attorneys at Law, P.A., in St. Petersburg. Prior, Rinker served as an Assistant Public Defender in the Sixth Judicial Circuit, Clearwater. He also worked as an associate with McConnaughhay, Duffy, Coonrod, Pope & Weaver, Sarasota. While in law school, Rinker clerked with the respected and well-known civil firm of Pacjic & Pacjic, and was selected to intern with the Florida Supreme Court, working directly with the Honorable Justice Kenneth B. Bell.
Prior to practicing law, Rinker was a businessperson who had a successful real estate practice in Maryland, owned his own software development firm based in Sarasota, worked in commercial sales in the telecommunications industry, and was a journalist covering business and commerce at the Journal of Commerce in New York, as well as business and features for Norfolk’s daily newspaper, the Virginian Pilot & Ledger Star and other regional magazines.
Rinker earned his J.D. degree from Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, where he graduated Cum Laude. As an undergraduate, he was awarded a B.S. in both political science and journalism from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. Prior to college, he served in Military Intelligence in the U.S. Army, including locations in Turkey, earning the highest level of secret security clearance.
